You may love him or hate him.

But you can’t deny Dr Jordan Peterson has sparked some of the most heated debates on the internet.

He’s a retired clinical psychologist who shares his views on freedom of speech, the state of masculinity and his critiques of political correctness.

He never shies away from a good debate.

And feminists despise him.

Peterson has a net worth of more than 10 million dollars, but he says it’s a complex management problem with a lot of responsibility.

He’s adamant that money hasn’t changed him and says it’s also easy to squander and misuse what he’s grown.

Peterson believes that making a profit in his businesses shows virtue.

He believes his business running smoothly and making a profit is morally good because it shows that he’s giving something of value to society.

“I’ve said unashamedly from the beginning that I’m an evil capitalist, and so it’s fine with me that that’s happening.”

“I’m not doing this for the money, but every single business enterprise I operate, and I run a lot of them, are for-profit because it’s an impetus to efficiency and care.

It’s imperative to produce marketable products, so I’d be regarded as a sign of moral virtue rather than the opposite.

That assumes that you’re trading fair and playing fair, but I am trading fair and playing fair, so I am thrilled about it.”

Government Will Most Likely Crack Down on Bitcoin

Peterson believes governments will eventually try to shut down Bitcoin by implementing their digital currencies.

He says it could be bad news because governments could track purchases and decide if you act unethically.

He likes that people in the Bitcoin community are putting their money into it, not just talking about it, and says Bitcoin has the potential to bring positive change, which is an exciting thing to watch.

He also points out that people want to store their money in something reliable with a good reputation.

Bitcoin could be the perfect option for that.

“I think the danger to the Bitcoin community, which will probably happen sooner rather than later, is that you’ll get clamped down hard.

The governments will try to implement their own digital currencies and then do everything they can to squash out competitors.

If you think fiat currency is bad, you wait till it’s fiat currency with a digital Spin.

Wait until people can track all of your purchases and decide to some scheme of Fiat when you’re acting unethically regarding your choice of, let’s say consumer advice.”

Bitcoiners Are Admirable and Delusional.

Peterson does talk about everyday topics with a profound philosophical view.

He’s intense.

He likes that people who support Bitcoin are willing to invest in it instead of just talking about it, even though you may be bordering on delusion.

Peterson says Bitcoin can make you think about your values and long-term future.

“To fight tyranny, we need faith and an ideal, and I guess that’s what Bitcoin represents to us.

Hopefully, it does.

That’s the other thing that’s admirable about the Bitcoin Community, delusion although it may be — at least you bloody well put your money where your mouth is.”

It’s not just cheap talk.

You’re willing to stake your future and maybe your family’s future on this, so you know it looks like you’re really in the game.

If you’re really in the game, that may facilitate a certain kind of ethical Transformation highly probable to start thinking in that long-term way and think about questions of ultimate value.

It’s like, how could that not have a transformative effect?

It certainly does on people, so wouldn’t it be lovely if this all worked out.”

Final Thoughts

Some people find Jordan Peterson’s ideas and personality inspiring, while others see him as divisive and controversial.

As a man, his charismatic and engaging speaking style speaks to me. He’s a passionate and articulate speaker who often uses clever storytelling and personal anecdotes to make his points.

And I like that he has a firm conviction and willingness to speak out against what he sees as societal problems, even when it makes him a target of criticism.

He often speaks positively about Bitcoin and has stated Bitcoin is a way of bypassing the traditional financial system and taking control of your wealth.

Peterson has also said Bitcoin symbolises freedom and independence and represents a move away from the government-controlled currency.

He refers to Bitcoin as a “store of value” and the first step in decentralising the monetary system.

You either have skin in the game, or you can sit on the sidelines with an opinion.

I believe Bitcoin is here to stay, and what we’re debating today will become mundane in 10 years.
